Woven Geotextiles
Woven Reinforcement
High
strength woven geotextiles composed of fibrilated tape provide all
three geotextile functions: separation, reinforcement, and
drainage/filtration. Common applications include subgrade separation
and/or base reinforcement. As select material is placed and loaded onto
soft soils, the textile separates the two and goes into tension
providing vertical support (much like standing on a trampolene). Unlike
traditional wovens, the fibrilated tape allows pore water pressure to
dispurse easily through the fabric, aiding in consolidation and
increasing the shear strength of the subgrade soils.
Mirafi HP Series is the premier choice for high strength woven geotextiles.
Woven Separators
Woven Slit Tape/Slit Film is the most common woven geotextile. It is
primarily used to separate two dissimilar soils where there is very
minimal or no flow of water through the fabric. Common applications
include roads and parking lots, keeping soft subgrade soils from
contaminating the select base material.
Mirafi X-Series is a cost effective woven separation geotextile.

Woven Filtration
Woven
monofilaments provide separation and drainage/filtration. Unlike
non-woven textiles, woven monofilaments resists clogging. They are
recommended over non-wovens for tidal or wave action, beneath
hard-armored revetment systems, or in any critical applications where
the nominal increase in cost is justified.
Mirafi FW Filterweave Series offers a complete line of varying flow rates, strengths, and sieve sizes.
